Local self-governance and the role of municipalities in poverty reduction in Azerbaijan

The project aimed to direct local budgetary funds towards municipality programmes on social and economic development and to achieve an advance in the lives of poor men and poor women in municipalities, in order to increase the role of municipalities in poverty reduction through expanding community accountability in the local budgetary process and increasing transparency of budgetary funds.

The project was undertaken from 15 April 2005 until 15 June 2006
