This policy brief covers the issue of public participation during the second half of 2007 under the auspices of the Millennium Challenge Account-Armenia (MCA-Armenia). It mostly covers the elections for the Stakeholders' Committee and also reflects the progress of schemes to restore rural roads and the irrigation of agricultural land under the MCA-Armenia project.
MCA-Armenia, is a state-owned foundation established by the Government of Armenia. It is responsible for overseeing the transparent implementation of the compact signed between the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), a U.S. Government entity, which aims at providing assistance for global development, and the Government of Armenia.
The Stakeholders' Committee is a key consulting body that is representing civil society during the implementation of the MCA-Armenia project.
