In 1998, the Soros Foundation Moldova launched a public opinion poll programme – Barometer of Public Opinion. The programme has been managed by the Institute for Public Policy since August 2000.
It aims to promote correct and transparent tools for an evaluation of social, political and economic life as well as ensuring the access of information for civil society. Sixteen polls have been conducted to date. The polls focus on the following issues: political options, rating of main political parties and personalities, living standards and quality of life, government economic and social policy as well as other major issues.
