What is our money spent on and how? The answer can be found in the long-awaited Budget Guide prepared in cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
The Guide contains chapters on;
- budget substance and structure
- budget procedures (preparation, adoption and execution)
- budget monitoring.
The guide also explains the role of citizens in the process.
Prior to the publication of the Budget Guide there was no way to obtain obtain all budget-related information in Macedonia from one source.
In addition to filling the information gap the Budget Guide also aims to;
- provide knowledge on public finances and budget activities
- stress the need for public attentiveness in the course of budget-making and spending.
It also aims to motivate the citizenry to engage actively in the budget process and to hold sway over budget makers and executors in the hope of attaining more efficient and conscious use of public revenues.
