The PASOS network of independent think-tanks in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia has continued to extend its reach in the South Caucasus with the inclusion of the International Center for Human Development, the first member from Armenia. (PASOS has two members in Azerbaijan and two members in Georgia.)

Following the approval of ICHD's membership by the PASOS Board of Directors, PASOS (Policy Association for an Open Society) now comprises 30 members and three Associate Members spanning 21 countries in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia. PASOS promotes and protects open society values, including democracy, the rule of law, good governance, respect for and protection of human rights, and economic and social development, by supporting policy centres. The founding Assembly of PASOS took place in December 2004, and the PASOS Secretariat was established in Prague in March 2005. This year's PASOS annual think-tanks' conference, together with the PASOS Assembly, will take place in Berlin, Germany, on 1-3 November 2007.
