Public access to the activities of local councils

The Institute for Public Policy (IPP) brings to the attention of NGOs, other stakeholders or active citizens with an interest in how local elected officials carry out their duties, an analysis of the way in which deliberative administration within local councils (cities, towns and communities) should be performed in Romania. IPP approaches the (poor from our perspective) recording of voting options of each local councillor for the projects submitted for council decision-making, and the practice, at national level, of not publishing this information on the websites or at the premises of their institutions, should citizens or other stakeholders be interested in how local councillors voted on a certain project.
